Itinerary

  • Day 01 - Singapore / Addis Ababa
    Fly Singapore/ Addis Ababa ET 639 0215/0635 – Except Thu & Sun (9h 20m)
     
    Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to hotel for rest.

    Enjoy a full day Addis Ababa tour. Start with a visit to Addis Ababa Museum which features a striking collection of historic photographs. The Museum also includes several fine exhibitions of indigenous art and textiles. We also visit the Trinity Cathedral and Museum and the Menelik Palace and  the National Museum with the star attraction “Lucy”, the remain of a 3.2 million years’ old hominid.

    Continue to the Red Terror Martyrs Museum to understand the recent tumultuous chapter of Ethiopia history. End the day exploring the Merkator Market, brimming with vibrant local life.

  • Day 02 - Addis Ababa / Bahir Dar / Gondar
    Today, you will be transferred for an early morning flight by private charter to Bahir Dar. Flight duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.

    Today, we will explore Lake Tana by boat. It has some 30 islands many with monasteries dating from 13th to 18th centuries. Visit the monasteries of Narga Sellassie before moving on to Zehe Peninsula where we can visit 2 monasteries open to both gender, Beta Maryam & Ura Kidanmehiret. The lake cruise itself also provides the opportunity to numerous lake bird sightings and local papyrus fishing boats in action. We will make a brief stop at the source of Blue Nile (if time permitted).

    At the end of the day, return to the Bahir Dar Airport for your private charter to Gondar. Flight duration: 40 minutes.

  • Day 03 - Gondar / Simien Mountains
    Gondar  has been called Africa’s Camelot with its series of castles and churches. It is Ethiopia’s capital from 1636 to 1667. Most have survived the ravage of time and constitute one of Ethiopia’s most fascinating antiquities. Our exploration will cover Debre Birhan Sellassie or Trinity at the mount of Light, the Royal Enclosure with the palace of Emperor Fasilidas and Kwesquam to see the castle of Empress Mentwabe.

    Later, drive to the beautiful Simien National Park and check into the lovely Limalimo Lodge for 1 night.

  • Day 04 - Simien Mountains
    Spend the day exploring this beautiful Simien National Park. Homer considers Simien to be the playground of Greek gods. The scenery is truly breathtaking. UNESCO has listed it as a world heritage site. Enjoy a walk in the park, where you may likely encounter the endemicGelada Baboons and Walia Ibex.

  • Day 05 - Simien Mountains / Axum
    Early morning, drive back to Gondar to catch your private charter to Axum. Flight duration:1 hour 10 minutes.

    Axum  is another of Ethiopia’s star attraction. The little town is littered with ruins of palaces, underground tombs, stelae and inscriptions. It was once the capital of the powerful Axumite Empire (3rd to 6th centuries) as well as that of the legendary Queen of Sheba.  We will visit the small archaeological museum, the obelisk park, Queen Sheba’s bath, Axumite palaces and tombs and the trilingual inscription of Ezana. In the afternoon, visit St Mary of Zion church, which is the oldest in Ethiopia and sub-Sahara.

  • Day 06 - Axum / Dallol / Lalibela
    Early morning, you will be transferred for your flight to Dallol Airstrip. Flight duration: 50 minutes.

    Marvel at the surreal beauty of Dallol, bursting in shapes and colours of different sulphur formations as a result of volcanic activities. You will also visit a traditional salt mining site, visit Lake Assal and observe the camel caravans of salt traders.

    In the afternoon, transfer back to the airstrip for your onwards private flight to Lalibela. Flight duration: 1 hour 10 minutes.

  • Day 07 - Lalibela
    Today we devote the whole day to explore Lalibela. Known as Africa’s Petra, Lalibela and its rock-hewn churches are arguably Africa’s top attraction. It is set amongst the rugged Lasta Mountains at 2630m. This afternoon, you will visit what have become known as the 8th wonder of the world – the churches of King Lalibela (A.D. 1180 to 1220). According to legend, the 11 monolithic churches, hand cut directly from the stone of the earth required 25,000 people and 24 years to complete.

  • Day 08 - Lalibela / Murle / Mago / Turmi
    Early morning, board your charter flight to Murle Airstrip. Flight duration: 3 hours 30 minutes (+ 30-40 minutes refueling stop in Arba Minch).

    Today, you will visit the Mursi Tribes in Mago National Park. Living in one of the most isolated regions of Ethiopia, the Mursi tribe in the beautiful Omo Valley is one of the most fascinating tribes in Africa. Known for their unique cultural values of wearing clay or wooden plates of earlobes which mark their traditional rites of passages, Mursi is one of the last remaining tribes in Africa to still wear traditional dress and accessories.

    Continue to Hamer village in Turmi, where you will spend time with one of the local families and enjoy the famous Evangadi dance.

  • Day 09 - Turmi / Murle / Addis Ababa / Singapore

    This morning, you will visit the Karo tribes, the indigenous group of Ethiopia known for their body painting and scarification way of life. They decorate their bodies with locally found white chalk, yellow mineral rock, iron ore and charcoal. This is an elaborate process with designs ranging from simple and fine dots to rough but remarkable lines traced with palms or fingers.

    In the afternoon, you will be driven back to Murle airstrip for your private charter back to Addis Ababa. Flight duration: 2 hours 10 minutes.
