Itinerary

  • Day 01 - Singapore / Colombo
    Fly Singapore / Colombo SQ 466 0850/1005 (3h45min) – Wed/Fri/Sat
    or Singapore / Colombo UL 307 0945/1105 (3h50min) – Daily


    Upon arrival, be met and transfer to your hotel.

    In the late afternoon, proceed on a Colombo walking tour with Mark Forbes and his team to experience colonial and post-colonial sites in Colombo.

  • Day 02 - Colombo / Wilpattu National Park

    After a leisurely breakfast, we depart Colombo and drive to Wilpattu National Park (approximately 5hours drive). The park is the largest in Sri Lanka and is reopened in 2009 after the civil war.

    Arrive Wilpattu in the afternoon and enjoy your first game drive.

  • Day 03 - Wilpattu National Park

    Enjoy a morning and afternoon game drive in the park and try your luck spotting the leopard, slot bear, elephant and many other smaller but no less interesting species.

  • Day 04 - Wilpattu National Park / Anuradhapura

    Drive about 2 hours to Anuradhapura, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    Once a capital of great civilization, it was overtaken by the jungle for a thousand years. Tour the ancient city this afternoon by bicycle, visiting the stupas of Ruwanweliseya, Abayagiri and Jethavana as well as the Samadhi Buddha statue and sacred “Bo” Tree.

  • Day 05 - Anuradhapura / Sigiriya

    After breakfast, drive about an hour to Dambulla Cave Temple, a vast isolated rock mass which is later converted to a rock temple.

    Proceed to visit the famous UNESCO World Heritage site of Sigiriya Rock Fortress.  Perhaps Sri Lanka’s most famous heritage site, Sigiriya is a huge, solitary rock and on its summit are the remains of a palace, built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century AD.

  • Day 06 - Sigiriya / Trincomalee

    Visit Polonnaruwa in the morning.  Polonnaruwa became the capital in the 11th century, replacing Anuradhapura.  The monuments here are grouped closer together in a smaller site which we can explore on bicycles.

    We then head to Trincomalee, east coast of Sri Lanka. Drive approximately 3 hours. If you wish, have a quick tour of Trincomalee before checking into your resort.

    Spend the rest of the day at leisure on the beach or enjoying the hotel’s amenities.

  • Day 07 - Trincomalee

    Today, wake up early for your Whale and Dolphin watching excursion (best from March to August). Enjoy your packed breakfast at the boat, while spotting the animals.  (4-5 hours on join-in basis).

    Another afternoon free to relax on the beach.

  • Day 08 - Trincomalee / Colombo / Singapore

    Transfer to the airport (or choose to extend another night).

    You will be met and transferred to your hotel for wash and change before dinner, followed by transfer to the airport for your flight.
